Frequently Asked Questions
-
I'm in-network with Aetna,Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and United Health Care for individual therapy. For couples therapy, I'm considered out-of-network, since most insurance plans only cover services tied to a diagnosable mental health condition for one individual, and by design couples work doesn't fit that model. This means couples sessions are private pay, though I'm happy to provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage for that varies by plan, so it's worth checking with your insurer directly.
-
My standard session is $150.00 for both individuals and couples. If you are paying my private pay rate, I can provide a superbill (which is an itemized receipt) that you can provide for potential reimbursement, depending on your out of network benefits. I recommend checking in with your insurance company to inquire about your out-of-network mental health benefits before our first session.

Your first session is an intake appointment. We'll talk through what's bringing you in, your history, and your current life circumstances, and I'll ask questions to get a fuller picture of what's going on. For couples, I'll typically want to hear from both partners about how you each see the relationship. By the end of the intake, we'll talk about a plan going forward, including how often we'll meet and what the next steps look like.

Yes I do offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so we can talk about what you're looking for and I can answer any questions.
